Customer and Context

Data integrity in multi-factory structures

In order to ensure case-pallet traceability in all of Mey Diageo's factories, a robust, user-friendly and flexible traceability system has been implemented as part of renewing the existing system.

The project aimed to enable traceability extending from case to pallet across all factories.

Needs / Problems

Network interruptions and system continuity

Renewal of the existing traceability system was required to reliably ensure traceability from case to pallet. In addition, restricted ERP access during network drops required a flexible, continuously operating structure to prevent production downtime.

  • 01ERP Connection RisksThe risk of production stopping in cases where connection with the central ERP system is lost.
  • 02Lack of Central ReportingInability to centrally monitor cases and pallets produced in a multi-factory structure in real time.
Solution

Bi-directional matching with offline support

To enable case-to-pallet traceability, barcodes of cases from production lines are scanned and paired with matching pallet barcodes. Fully integrated with SAP, the system operates offline during network drops, ensuring uninterrupted production. The application runs in all Mey Diageo factories and production lines, monitored from headquarters in Istanbul, with production reports generated centrally.

01

Case Scanning

Barcodes of cases coming from the production line are scanned via industrial readers.

02

Pallet Matching

Scanned case info is matched with the corresponding pallet ID.

03

Offline Operation

If a network drop occurs, the system automatically continues operating in local memory.

04

SAP Sync

When connection is restored, all accumulated data is automatically pushed to SAP.

Technology / Equipment Used

Continuous production and labeling architecture

INTERFACE

C# SCADA Application

Interface managing case-pallet matching, labeling flow, and SAP integration.

LABELING

Case and Pallet Applicators

Industrial machines automatically printing and applying case and pallet labels.

HARDWARE

Industrial Barcode Readers

Field readers scanning case and pallet barcodes with high speed and accuracy.

SOFTWARE

OnSuite Trace Platform

Traceability software featuring offline capability and central reporting.

Integrations

SAP ERP and Offline Synchronization

The system operates fully integrated with SAP bi-directionally. During network drops, the application switches to offline mode to keep production running without interruption, and syncs data once the connection is restored.

Offline Data BufferInterruption period data stored in the local database is transferred to SAP when connection is established.
Benefits / Results

Continuous production and central visibility

End-to-End Traceability

The entire packaging hierarchy from case to pallet is automatically recorded.

Offline Reliability

Factory production does not stop even during network or SAP drops, preserving data integrity.

Central Reporting

Traceability data from all factories can be monitored in real time from headquarters in Istanbul.
