BOMI Group Camera-Based Multi-Code Reading System

For the Turkey warehouse of BOMI Group, a global leader in pharmaceutical logistics, we developed a Camera-Based Multi-Code Reading System, automating processes previously performed manually.

The line, tailored to BOMI's needs, consists of a 3-metre conveyor, 6 SICK cameras, an operator screen and a handheld terminal.

This system enables automatic verification of products on the order list, speeding up the process and eliminating human errors. An operator places a box containing 50 products on the conveyor. The box enters an enclosed area where cameras begin capturing images. Within seconds, Data Matrix codes are read and displayed on the system and operator screen. The codes are compared with the order list to ensure compliance with BOMI standards. Non-compliant codes are highlighted in red, prompting error correction and re-scanning. Once approved by the operator, the order is finalised.

If needed, products can be added manually using the handheld terminal.

With our Camera-Based Multi-Code Reading System, SISKON has supported BOMI in achieving significant advancements in warehouse management. This system, adaptable to various industries and applications, can add value to your business processes.
